Year 5, first week began with Monday mcAngus mushroom lunch that I enjoy, except for a generic brand yogurt. I was glad this is the last day of work from home though I was just as disciplined at home nevertheless.

Day two was a busy work day with a worship meeting in the morning. I must admit I can do nothing much on Tuesdays. I’m glad, however, to see more people back.

Wednesday was occupied by a night leaders meeting that ended close to midnight with lots of things not worked out. Worse J texted me how upset Solomon brothers were.

Day four was half work day. Besides a chiropractor appointment I went to get a hair cut and get an orchid pot to remember the fourth anniversary of Doris’ loss tomorrow. Strangely my publisher for the first time contacted me to get ready for the editing of our new book.

On Friday I took a ferry to Peng Chau where Doris and I went before on a rainy day. I returned on the 145pm ferry and had dinner with buddy and wife and talked till 10pm. I found out my legs and back could stand the test though I had to get up twice. I was comforted today. I also sent Doris’ videos.

Day six is a favorite day lately because I can get to see the young people practice for worship the next day. Their growth in virus times is phenomenal.

Sunday was worship and as usual I bounced between three language halls to oversee everything. I even got to sing a song after doxology and had lunch with the group, followed by coworker dessert to end the day. I’m also enjoying an old tv series 義不容情.

Year 4.51

Year 4.52 is ending the fourth year of Doris’ loss heading into the fifth year!  On Monday I keep to myself as usual delighting myself in mcD Monday for a few weeks now since the virus invasion.

Day two was emotional for me because a coworker who’s been with me six years is leaving, a better person no doubt after inheriting my Bible study and preaching strengths. They treated me to dinner. The wife thanking me for giving her a new person for husband. Few is his level, even among my mentees.

Wednesday was leaders meeting and we didn’t join lunch because I have so many meetings on Wednesday. At night we have our relaxing one hour prayer and sharing meeting.

Day four began with a chiropractor appointment, followed by lunch with a fellowship deacon. We agree there is lots to do to stabilize ministry.

On Friday I got a precious moments figurine for departing coworker, and department coworkers old and new came together. We also had good fellowship with an old coworker to see how the person is doing.

Day six was fabulous music get together time again for youth. It’s so special to see them growing and we had a birthday celebration for the new pianist. All are new in this band but they’re so happy together, attracting a few admirers.

On Sunday I hope to spit fire in my sermon but it barely worked - after listening to it again, but I found I do not dislike my voice as much! When I joined in the post benediction song I cried singing 能不能. I was by myself as I bought flowers for Doris but I had dessert as usual because it’s a hot day! At night I had dinner at my neighbors.

Year 4.51

Year 4.51 is one week closer to Doris’ fourth year of loss. On Monday I had mcD lunch again because it’s the closest cool place near my home since summer has arrived.

Day two was a coworker interview and it’s harder than it seems. Then there’s the usual zoom coworkers meeting that is tiring by now.

Wednesday was a leaders prayer meeting followed by lunch with a former coworker. By God’s grace he started in January at another church before the virus came or he would have to wait for a few months!

Day four was chiropractor’s treatment on my right leg. He tells me I’m improving for the nth time! Haha I believe him but I don’t feel it because my right leg is numb.

Friday was seminary meeting. At night I walked two times round the block - for a few days now. I’m glad I survived the humidity and night and I get to wear shorts!

Day six I got a new coworker youth to ease up by having lunch and playing music with my young guys because he’s very tensed. He was happy as a lark by the end of the day but his leader was not happy.

Sunday was big. After checking in at ICC I said hi to pth and followed the English worship before returning to pth for benediction and trying out our blessing song to the congregation. I had dessert with coworker before ending my day.

Year 4.50

Year 4.50 is two weeks from Doris’ fourth year is loss. I don’t even know how to feel about it. On Monday I had a pepper steak burger which was a messy lunch by itself. As usual I had a cone to end lunch and made it home by 4pm.

Day two was work as usual. Three coworkers were at ping pong room when my departing coworker shared along with others their plans in a year of mass exodus with 13 coworkers exiting the door.

On Wednesday momentum was building in our idea of recording a song for a young fellowship member whose father passed away in China but he could only rush home to be in isolation and missed the funeral. Practice will be on Saturday as K has chosen the song. It would be a multiple venues recording style popular in virus times. At night we had our prayer support group.

Day four was the first day public holiday. I’m now used to my late lunch and return home by 4pm schedule. I went to KF and bought roast pork to eat with my neighbors on a spur of the moment decision.

Friday was harder to top since I already had lunch yesterday. I decided to take village bus and had Taiwan noodles. For two days I spent an hour in study in the morning.

Day six morning was compensation day so I did more writing before I joined the group to do the recording which took us four hours at least.

Sunday was a full day. After visiting icc I checked in at 14 floor for pth live. After that we had lunch and did evaluation before we had light dessert. At night we shared the video with A to a lot of tears. I cried seeing it for the first time.

Year 4.49

Year 4.49 was a week of anguish for youth fellowship especially. On Monday I was so glad that I finally could crack the outline for JOHN 2 after a month of labor. The weather is getting humid, so my feet doesn’t respond well.

Day two was another work day for me. This week was especially tough trying to schedule time for coworkers evaluations with them hardly around. At least I got my hair cut from a coworker for tomorrow.

Wednesday was one month from Doris’ fourth year of loss. It’s usually an emotional time thinking of what to do to remember her. At tonight’s prayer meeting with youth I told them, Doris did not pour so much in me for me to be discouraged 沮喪.

Day four was half day. Evaluations were the theme this week. I joined some of my nutty IT coworkers to test out their mixers and mics with my usual brand of singing to get off duty.

On Friday we heard the terrible news a youth’s father in China had passed away suddenly. He rushed home but had to be isolated and so he missed the funeral and fours days later he’s still in isolation. Oh such grief that tears flooded my eyes!

Day six was an early language meeting to get ready for our new move. After the meeting we met again to discuss a coworker’s extension. My chiropractor returned to work for the day though in private.

Sunday was a busy work day deftly jumping from Indonesian to English to
Mandarin live worships. After worship we had two tables for separate worship lunch. At afternoon I had a incoming coworker HR problem that almost drove me crazy. At night I had dinner with my work neighbor. I finally finished my year’s second book 同行無界!
