Year 3.14

Year 3.14 was a test. I visited an acupuncturist in a nearby mall when a friend recommended acupuncturist was not available. It seems I had to get started. At night one invited us to dumpling dinner but I wanted to leave by eight for my prayer walk.

Day two was supposedly last preaching class for interns and they got their interns’ full. USA Karl came by to find out how I was doing but time was short for me. Hope he can return for ministry. At night Tiny and neighbor had a big dinner prepared for us two. Buddy P surprised me with a haircut for the next day and also joined us for dinner.

On Wednesday I was late at leaders meeting with notification, which the rest did wonders for me. I had to cancel my China training classes, which I did previously. My body was battered when I made the decision to skip teaching. At night we had Vietnamese dinner with some and in law at KF where I introduced two and asked how to handle Chicago application.

Day four was no good because I had two appointments, one with new acupuncturist and another for hand treatment. The only good thing I was looking forward to was walking brisker in my night prayer walk. I had not started on any writing since the August 9 stroke.

On Friday I continued at my pace of which I am no slouch. I skipped dinner with relatives. At night Canadian Holy invited me and neighbor for dinner. His children are oh so grown now.

Day six I woke up asking who was the preacher tomorrow. I had canceled last week for another to show up. I had to work on it quick even though it was not new material. By four I could breathe a sigh of relief. It was the most narrow escape ever. We even had a short snack.

On Sunday morning xinyu a students son traveled 24 hours to see me. I was touched by their gesture though I did not consider myself in such a state. My pressure was acting up so I rested. I cried when the songs came because an admin staff members spouse passed away from breast cancer. Youth kindly got hbp meds ready. The sermon went well, but I was dead after lunch with USA friends. I was very much alive after my rest and got home for exercise while waiting for the youth to arrive for dinner. The rest of the night was fun with beef for dinner. They even helped me take out bad material stuffing from my sofa.

Year 3.13

Year 3.13 was a happy one as I got discharged. Monday was another restless day at the hospital as the male nurse Phil told me I won’t be released for another day. Yes I was happy because I was allowed to go the bathroom after two and a half days of bed confinement. Peter, Jim, Percy and Fuji came by, plus Xiu yun and Xiao Bei.

Day two was my birthday dinner but I was waiting for final news if I could be released. Kudos to the staff who let me go, changing their minds after lunch. Two helped me get home and then we got ready for my birthday dinner with family and friends two days before the real one. It was one of my happiest day ever.

Wednesday was leaders meeting but I passed. James took me out for tea but it’s not like I could avoid his persistence, plus fruits. I did not attend language meeting either because the doctor gave me a day off.

Day four was my birthday proper. I forgotten pretty much what I did because I did not want to exert myself too much. Anyway nothing could beat my dinner guests with newbies Bon, Amy and Jack, plus Peter and wife direct from USA. I did however had a quiet moko lunch   and a social place dinner with a dutiful student who kept a loving and watchful eye on me.

Friday was a slow day. We went to Tung Chung to remember coffee days with Doris and had wonderful Taiwanese dinner Tai fung at tst. It was supposed to me my day two in Singapore, so that’s how I spent it.

Saturday was lunch with my buddy Cheng after ribbing him for failing to take me to goose dinner強記 before I die. We went to Npac and was thankful that Gordon was the speaker. We also managed to eat at an Italian restaurant Dorus and I ate before.

Sunday was back to work but I close my eyes to conserve strength. It was followed by baptism at church and dinner with eight youth at my place. I’m grateful they helped me to clean the place up.

Year 3.12

Year 3.12 was a health hazard to me. On Monday I spent Morning at revival meeting. I gave Doris’ two books to David. I was hard at work on Old Testament grammar. I prayed with my buddies that night, for one it’s been tough.

Day two was preaching class and coworkers meeting, plus working hard on my James 1 sermon. At night was up to exodus for grammar Bible. I am more surer what to do with Hebrew “which” by now.

Wednesday was a shorter leaders meeting, so that we can have lunch together. I put my final touches to Icc report for tomorrow night. Wednesday I finished Leviticus for grammar Bible.

Day four was disastrous. The meeting started earlier so I did not get rest. I left more than halfway bye after my presentation but it was past 11pm when I got home. At night I was dizzy so I climbed onto bed.

On Friday I woke up and fell automatically from my toilet seat. I got a neighbor Alan to take me to a doctor who said I have vertigo. Tom, Cheng and Pak was with me the rest of the noon. I slept early.

Day six my coworkers urged me To go emergency on a rainy day. Tom, Roy, Pak and Fung were around. The reports said I have minor stroke on left side. Sos and USA arrived Peter Chung came last minute. I had nothing to eat or drink for the day in hospital. I was glad so I did not have to pee being confined. A lot of friends visited including Edward And Nelson, Tom, at noon and Kwan, Amy, Jack, Raymond, Fung,Pth Indons, Sinta, Marion. Peter from kunming and Jack from China mission too. Very touching to have such friends but missed some who never came. The bed was messy.

On Sunday I had more visitors to comfort me.Thanks for the visit from grace, Jeffrey, dr Kwan, Pth Amy and Peter Chung twice now. I did not aim well with my or table toilet when I was confined to my bed with no food or drink the second day running, so no restroom as well. I recalled Doris who suffered same for two weeks.

Year 3.11

Year 3.11 was a sick week. I went to an early lunch with a member who wants to enrol in seminary to be a tent maker missionary. The first class is Greek so he adopted me as backup teacher, not that I have much choice. The rest of the day was a quiet rest before I returned home for dinner.

Day two lunch was with interns. It was a quiet day in another way because it is a week off for coworkers meeting, so I spent noon teaching two language before seminary begins. I had to double up on Gal 6 for Sunday sermon and skipped mra which I heard was unpleasant. Today was anniversary dinner so i ate at passion with a friend to remember Doris my love.

Wednesday prayer morning I heard was distressing. I have too much on my hands and my third point had yet to round into shape. Buddy attended for the first time and it was as much a shock to him as it was my first time in January, which I have not attended since.

Day four was more work on the same passage but not much progress. After work was hand treatment at night. Two recorded the first ten Hebrew words with vety good pronunciation all the way, I am way proud.

On Friday I finally wrapped up the sermon satisfactorily even though the conclusion is undone. Night fellowship was canceled due revival meetings. I discovered bumps on my head and realized I was sick with sneezing in the morning as symptoms.

Day six was morning schedule for a change due revival meeting. Lunch was with a prospect but the gap is still huge, so I felt it was a waste of time. I left after work for night prayer walk. In a dream this week I was a lowly number 400 in seniority.

Sunday breakfast was with language committee. It was a rewarding sermon time. English worship celebrated two coworkers birthday. Lunch was with an English prospect but there is still a big gap to close. At night we went to TWW for dinner and dessert before we called it a day.
