Year 4.23

Year 4.23 was slightly better but cops are making things worse. On Monday I walked to Mongkok to see the damage there as it was not too far from flower street. I got my hair cut for tomorrow as well.

Day two was the 41st month of Doris’ loss. Coworkers meeting was as usual but we had to hold the fort for the diverse of opinions among coworkers and one irritant than others.

On Wednesday morning leaders decided not to entertain absentees to rewrite suggestions without discussion. It was a long meeting but I did my part to lead Lam 1 devotion on the spot. I gave a blunt response to
the candidate of choice from the senior leaders.

On Day four I woke up to a dream of Doris wanted by FBI! Our coworkers met old coworker S for breakfast. I went to chiropractor for an hour and half the group was still talking till lunch!

On Friday morning I went to my first walk up the island reservoir. It was very good steep walk and exercise for my wobbly legs. Later I had breakfast with language coworker to help with speakers schedule for the new quarter.

On Saturday I waited at home for my foot masseur, who wanted to place his massage table at my place. I felt bad at the death of his father. At night I listened to L’s sermon on 2 Kings 2.

Sunday school was into the eight week and we had a good time as usual. Jonah’s request to die, like Elijah with the same imperative, made me emotional. We had a good HiT and prayer. At night I got ready for tomorrow’s Mui Wo retreat.

Year 4.22

Year 4.22 was just as dramatic as the past weeks. On Monday we had a quiet breakfast and then lunch before the bus arrived. As usual I went to flower street to buy flowers for Doris. The rest of the day was refreshing to get ready for the week.

Day two I met two coworkers, one to adjust roles and fellowship, and the second for dinner because his wife is out of town. Unexpectedly we bumped into four dragons Ivan.

I was not looking forward to Wednesday because of a difficult wedding rehearsal at night. At least buddy and I had a good dinner with two deacons and an early dismissal at night leaders meeting due mtrs 10pm closure.

Day four was focusing on Lam 3, hopefully I can get all my observations in by the weekend. I also have a chiropractor appointment for my left arm, which is not improving.

Bless Faith’s heart. On Friday my relative brought me fish for the night’s meal. I finally completed my preliminary message on Lam 1.

Day six morning was the wedding and I was well prepared, so was my sermon speaking coworker. The rest of the night fellowship was canceled, so we left for early dinner.

Sunday school was good as usual. I had breakfast and rested before worship. I was almost caught in the closure of transport services for another week after HiT with youth. Other young people with we’re not so fortunate. For dinner I went to a neighbors home for ramen.

Year 4.21

Year 4.21 is unbelievably bad. Monday was so bad after the chaos yesterday that I had to cancel lunch appointment with a rep of an organization. At least I stayed home and did some hiking.

Day two was back to normal. I started working on Lamentations 1 and saw the beauty in it. In the meantime 1 Kings 19 for Sunday is on my mind.

On Wednesday we had a morning leaders meeting but I skipped team lunch with buddy and joined language prayer immediately after. At least I got the two leaders to agree on closing 4pm coming Sunday.

Day four lunch was with Raymond. He has his thinking but I think he got caught in taking sides. At night I had TS meeting and invited Keith to hear me speaking in English this week.

On Friday I finished my coming Sunday’s ppt. I was happy I found a depression illustration for my sermon.

Day six brings a lot of anxiety with the protesters marching past the church. Our night worship was almost canceled but for my last minute intervention, saying “Wait.” Night fellowship was canceled.

Sunday sermon was very well received. Creamy asked for prayer. I had high tea with youth but received an emergency text that sent me to the cswps comforting a family. My coworker took over two hours later but the crisis was till midnight.

Year 4.20

Year 4.20 was another crazy week, if not craziest yet. I invited the boys over for lunch and we ate Vietnamese dinner at KT An Nam. Overall we had lots of fun with three other young people.

Day two was a big day. I took the boys to Dragon Tribe for the biggest bbq treat. We went home for exercise and food. The national day chaos forced a youth to stay overnight because he could not return to shatin but it was good bonding.

On Wednesday I skipped prayer lunch to visit the place where the boy was shot. It helped me to deal with the stress and mixed feelings. I felt relieved afterwards. We also had our small coworkers group sharing.

Day four was a chiropractor appointment in late afternoon. Otherwise I had to get ready Sunday’s sermon and translation on 1 John 4.

On Friday I started working on our sudden turnaround sermon on Lamentations 1 for next month. It is surprisingly refreshing rather than alarming passage.

On day six all transport was paralyzed and morning worship was canceled. I did not go to the office but I was glad I had almost finished my sermon and ppt for tomorrow.

On Sunday I taught Sunday school on Jonah 2 but did not have lunch with my students because I had to rest and preach in the next hour. The sermon was well received and revises my sermon after lunch. We went out for food after fellowship but was caught in mtr closure, so we had to walk to Kwai Fong and took a bus to Kwai Fong and then to island.

Year 4.19

Year 4.19 seems unreal heading to China’s 70th anniversary. On Monday we had lunch with the Mok sisters. Vivien was in town for one day. Amazingly my good friend Albert from USA was in town too. My publisher sent me my new book cover, so the book is set for release in as fast as three weeks.

Day two was a busy day heading into next week’s holiday. I had to work hard on 1 John 4, as well as the translation. It is taking shape but I’m not confident. At night I visited a coworker at KW.

On Wednesday we had leaders meeting in the morning. I don’t think we accomplished much although we worked fast. The new leadership has a lot of challenges ahead for sure.

Day four lunch was spent at chiropractor office. He worked on my bad left hand. It was painful but at least he’s the only person willing to try. My foot masseur’s father is critical at the hospital.

Friday morning was supposed to be at Starbucks but coworker had diarrhea. I was so busy with hospital coworker that others are secondary.

Day six morning was a good start as I managed to buy six Apple magazines. Lunch was visiting K again before he was discharged. I treated myself to Paisano for the third time.

Sunday school was a blessing again, this time finally finishing Jonah chapter one. After lunch I led prestudy for a coworker who was sick. I took five youth for high tea and got flowers for Doris. At PE we met a lot of cops, so we bypassed them for another turnstile.
