Year 5.4

Year 5.4 was nearly past four years and one month to Dors’ loss. It’s a joy to remember her! On Monday I went to buy dumplings and masks, just one bus ride away. Masks was $10 each!

Day two was farewell lunch for six coworkers, some due retirement and some emigration! Another exodus is coming at years end.

Wednesday was leaders meeting, but I managed to join a younger group for zoom prayer after the meeting. I was glad I could finish up Mark 1 for another new book, finishing the third chapter so far.

Day four was a visit to the chiropractor plus senior lunch, where we talked about my objections to a candidate. Seems like I lost favor with top brass.

On Friday We finally put our department team together after months of  resistance and reluctance. Our concerns are politics, relationships and balance. Night was better because we had dinner with relative Chiu.

Day six was slow except for music practice and dinner. Fellowship has started so we did not share and pray like before.

Sunday was busy due Fathers Day. We still had our dessert and I bought flowers but I forgot my hair cut!

Year 5.3

Year 5.3 was a weather nightmare. On Monday I ate my Mac lunch but this time surrounded by students who were in full force after returning to school. I waited a bit so I could have my lunch in peace.

Day two was a return to office with zoom no longer provided. We had a short sharing for division workers and later faced heavyweights G n E to give my reS input. It was a very good meeting. R called that night for briefing.

Wednesday morning leaders had less flare now that things are off the chest. The meeting ended early with all joining lunch. I even winked at Q. I enjoyed night prayer group as usual.

Day four was half day as I went for my chiropractor appointment. I started looking at John 17 to be next chapel speaker. I feel too weird nowadays being so vocal.

Friday was a peaceful day as I looked more into John 17. The day was gone before I knew it. I was glad I’m finishing up the old 50 episode TV series 義不容情.

Day six was lively as usual. R dropped into my office for lunch. We had AV training followed by praise team. The work was ok, cut short by the pianist’s lack of availability. After dinner I had a good talk with a young man about going oversees if he need to in the future.

Sunday morning was a new ICC venue. I joined them in singing before I returned to pth and English. It was a long time I haven’t met Greg since school days and we hardly know each other from school since he was incoming and I was graduating. I had dessert with coworker and bought flowers for Doris as usual to end the day.

Year 5.2

Year 5.2 is a combustible week for me. Monday was my usual Mac day. I enjoy the less crowded atmosphere before the students return to the restaurant in full force next week. I managed to find muesli in a nearby supermarket.

Day two was a good coworkers meeting. I worry about a new staff’s well-being although I do not work directly with the person.

Wednesday morning meeting was not pretty. It was a disaster as one after another voiced their views. A lot was said about new plans. Lunch tempered all but things were going nowhere.

Day four was a good chiropractor appointment. After more than a year working on the front side of my leg the chiropractor finally worked on my back, all according to his plan!

On Friday we had lunch with birthday coworkers but we had to go earlier because there was no booking.

Day six morning was English core and then lunch together, seven strong. Music practice was sparsely attended but my bass guitar coworker had the time of his life. Without a valid pianist the two guitarists followed along YouTube music. A young guy D joined us but getting permission for him to join was really messy.

Sunday morning was check-in with ICC then PTH and English before returning to pth. Lunch was for four only, treating young Jeff for his hard work. Later we had dessert again at PE before calling it a day. At night I got a new mask from my neighbor!

Year 5.1

Year 5.2 is a sober week knowing Doros has left me for more than four years. By God’s grace I survived emotionally. Monday was rest day but I went to the office but in vain because I forgot my bank password.

Day two was full office reopening for the second week, so Zoom was canceled. It was a good coworkers’ experience but I’m not sure how long virus peace will last.

Wednesday was an explosive day. According to one observer I started the fire and R added the fuel. At least we got newbie back but interesting human days could be ahead.

Thursday was chiropractor appointment and coworker’s birthday. I’m surprised we’re back to eight strong though we lost B. But one said all are half time!

Friday was P birthday dinner along with wife and coworker. It was a wonderful dinner for four. Hope better days are ahead in staff relationship and team building.

Day six was early morning zoom for icc. We’re ready to move and there’s no turning back. Late afternoon was joint youth practice for tomorrow’s worship. Not many joined dinner.

Sunday was a controlled leaders meeting. I honestly don’t want things rushed and I’m sure coworkers won’t want too many changes in this political climate.
After dessert with coworker I went home to end another week but not before sharing ice cream with my neighbor.
