Year 4.44

Year 4.44 is three years and ten months of Doris’ loss. On Monday I had TW lunch and bought some dumplings. I was fascinated by the cloth masks there as I started wearing cloth last week courtesy of Laus.

Day two was a slow zoom day but I had to work on my Easter sermon. I have finalized my next book for publishing.

On Wednesday like yesterday I took the morning off to exhaust my leave. My coworker said we can extend the leave to 2021 but I said 今日唔知聽日事Night leaders night meeting was zoom. I was happy I finally sent the script to publisher.

Day four was a sleepy day. I just pray that I’m not sick. I was glad I was sick three days before Chinese New Year so I can relax and not fear virus that much.

On Friday I was glad I had shaken off the dozing spell. The publisher said yes so I’m thankful my book has been accepted tea in these hard times and long days.

Day six was hair cut and flower day to remember Doris tomorrow. In the afternoon was taping worship for tomorrow with the youth army and we had a lot of fun as usual. Katie joined us for organ and prayer.

Sunday was prayer meeting, worship and wedding day. Praise God I taped parts of the wedding from the office for all onlookers and did some sermon in the afternoon.

Year 4.43

Year 4.43 was a good week despite the bad. On Monday I had breakfast with a neighbor postponed to a day later. It’s good to catch up with friends and things.

Day two was a sharp change in the weather with leaves all over. Coworkers meeting is short zoom again, but I have to prepare 2 Peter 2 because a speaker canceled.

Wednesday “future” meeting did not go well. More seats mean more jostling. I prefer as is. Some said, You need to have a better alternative. At least I know now that we can offer plan B.

Day four was bad because my chiropractor contracted snake skin so our appointment was canceled, for a few weeks at least.

On Friday Bei recorded the pth version for Lord, Make Me Whole. The empty room produced an echo, so she plans to redo it.

Day six was pth department zoom meeting, followed by guitar training for the young guns. I also played for the adult praise team, my first.

Sunday was back to church and lunch with K. I kinda finished up my last question for my Genesis series.

Year 4.42

Year 4.42 was an uncomfortable week. On Monday I received a call from seminary to ask me to teach ten Monday noon classes beginning in April. I hesitated but agreed but they sounded as if they expected I would be willing to do it. I’m not fond of hk teaching nowadays.

Day two was coworkers zoom day but I’m not a fan. I took my PC but I had to adjust to no word doc but learned Libre. My coworker P was upset because we are running short of staff help.

On Wednesday we had a short leaders prayer meeting, followed by language meeting. I have to convinced them that we’re moving to a smaller place. I expected ministry money to be tight due virus.

On day four, I woke to a dream I have five million in my bank! All my fears are eating my sleep time. I had a good chiropractor treatment today on some hip muscles.

Friday was a quarrelsome day due to the lack of office virus help. I think people are very rough, like bouncers nowadays. At night we had a birthday celebration for R on the person reaching 60. We had a great time because the four of us are one year apart.

Day six was early zoom. At least we were on one page. In the afternoon we had guitar lessons, followed by dinner prayer and praise.

Sunday was shocking because we were still missing Sunday video so there was commotion and we started worship at 1145am. The finance report was disappointing to my English colleague.

Year 4.41

Year 4.40 was challenging because of my FB live sermon. On Monday I woke to a coronavirus dream because friend doctor Kwan said it’s a humanitarian disaster! At least the church was not infected in my dream. I had lunch with in-law Marion who wanted to walk TY pier.

Day two was coworkers zoom time, followed by division sharing. I had to wrap up my long-prepared Habakkuk 1 sermon for preaching on Sunday.

Wednesday was leaders meeting but the usual suspects stayed safely in their home to zoom away. Some seemed to have disappeared as soon as the virus appeared. I started breakfast fasting yesterday while today’s Ash Wednesday.

Day four was half day. At least I got to see my chiropractor. After that i had lunch with XB but K could not make it because of his kids. I asked my division staff to work from home like they worked in the office.

Friday was a big day because I finally got my sermon done but lacking one illustration for my last point. I joined the Laus for dinner to catch up with their immigration plans.

Day six was language zoom meeting. We are at a critical juncture because of the virus. After enduring the meeting with our partners we had our own discussion among ourselves. I opt to rent nearby. The first guitar class was a huge success with three students. We had dinner with sharing and prayer after. Thankfully I had my last sermon illustration from Life is Beautiful right when I decided to sleep.

Sunday was nervous time. We were at the venue 10am for the singers to warm up and I joined team at 1015. I preached breathlessly while pressing from notebook to camera button. After it was over we had Vietnamese lunch and I returned to the office to revise my sermon. Later I left church to buy flowers. At night I joined to sing with a neighbor at the pier.
